Energy saving in Ukraine, world trends, methods and realities
California intends to put into place a very ambitious goal called Long-term Strategic Plan, it only applies to those homes that will be built according to the standards of energy-saving buildings with zero energy up to 2020, as well as to all commercial buildings by 2030. In California, homes consume nearly one-third of the energy from all consumed in the state, so this stated goal must significantly reduce CO emissions and become an example for all states.
We believe this could be a big step in the future without emission of CO into the atmosphere, at the same time, we are hesitant to fully approve this ambitious plan. It's said that the devil is in details, in this case the details are very important part of how this plan will be implemented.
In June of this year, California announced the adoption of Article 26, Part 6 on the list of standards that will become the next step for energy-saving homes with zero energy in 2020.
Double-value in the price of energy
The new standards will be central to the Code on Building Energy-Saving Buildings with Zero Energy by 2020, this Code will enable us to determine the amount of energy used by the consumer.

SOSZCH is calculated by multiplying the energy used by the house for each type of energy using the SEM multiplier. These factors range from season, type of energy, climatic zone and type of house. According to David Heslum, Executive Director of Earth Advantage, this method models consumption and energy generation after 2 minutes of increment throughout the year, then we use a weighing scheme every 2 minutes, according to our estimate of time-consuming energy, which we already know.
This allows us to find out that the cost of Kwt in California during peak hours is more expensive than at night. As a result of counting the electricity consumed in this way, a zero-energy energy-saving building built in California can have an average 60% reduction in energy consumption, provided that the building has solar modules. Double-sidedness in the finished zero energy
Another possible ambiguity in the California criteria is that it is still unclear whether it has the full right or no Power Commission in California to require solar modules to be on the roof. While we advocate the design and construction of energy-saving zero-energy buildings, we assume that this could be another vague approach and this could significantly delay progress in the construction of zero-energy buildings in California.Will it become a mandatory requirement for zero-energy houses to install solar modules? Will there be any incentives or incentives for the owners of these houses? There are still many questions.
The same question arises, which standards have been used to define an energy saving home in Ukraine?
Now low energy houses on zero energy are very similar, almost identical. They have very similar design, power consumption and modern technology, but they do not have the ability to do so in homes with zero energy, which themselves produce electricity and consume it.
Already laid down in the California Code all the necessary conditions for the installation of solar modules. It is allowed that 250 square feet of roof space should occupy solar modules along with cable channels that connect the attic with modules, as well as a place under the shield. We will postpone further comments until we see how it will be implemented.
While the goal - building energy-saving homes in the Dnieper with zero energy looks good on paper, the reality is that all the standards they are trying to achieve can be green camouflage. But California could choose a completely different path. If there is not an equal amount of consumed and produced energy in these buildings, then this project needs to give a different name. This would make it possible to avoid confusion in the market without compromising the brand of energy-saving home in Ukraine with zero energy.
